Ready to get your blog on the Google map? πΊ️ It's time to bust out your secret weapon: Google Search Console! π If you haven't already signed up, don't fret, It's super easy, and I'll drop a link here so you can get started right away. Once you're in, enter your website URL and head over to URL Inspection. This is where you'll find out whether your page is indexed or not. And if it's not, no worries! Just click on the Request Indexing button and you'll be on your way to success! π
But that's not all! If you want to really optimize your blog for search engines, you'll want to add a sitemap. Now, by default, your blogger blog will have a sitemap. And that's where Google Search Console comes in again!
- Log in to Google Search Console π
- In the sidebar select your website,
- Click on Sitemaps πΊ️: The ‘Sitemaps’ menu is under the ‘Index’ section. If you do not see ‘Sitemaps’, click on ‘Index’ to expand the section.
- Enter ‘sitemap.xml in the ‘Add a new sitemap’ field to complete the sitemap URL for default sitemap of blogger

π I thought it was time to tackle the power of traffic sources. From organic search to social media to referral traffic, there's a whole world of ways people can find your blog. π This comes Acquisition on 2nd Navigation Pane, click Traffic Acquisition. π
These are 4 of them:
- Organic Search π: Traffic that comes from search engines like Google, Bing, or Yahoo.
- Paid Search π°: Traffic that comes from paid search ads on search engines like Google AdWords.
- Organic Social π±: Traffic that comes from social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Instagram.
- Referral Traffic π: Traffic that comes from other websites that link to your website.
I was surprised π² to discover that some of my posts were
getting a lot of views while others were not being read as much. This was a
wake-up call for me to start updating some of my older posts and making them
more SEO-friendly.π€
And, let me tell you, when I saw that most of my traffic was coming from social media, I was thrilled π! All that hard work promoting my blog on Facebook paid off! But, I was also disappointed to see that my organic search traffic wasn't as high as I hoped π – but it makes sense now. Fingers crossed π€ that it would increase from now.
